Pianist – Composer – Silent Film Specialist – Piano Teacher
Mauro Colombis is a versatile classically trained pianist who specialises in composing and performing piano music for silent films.
He is also a dedicated piano teacher with twenty years of experience.
Mauro believes that it’s a privilege to interact with other humans through music, regardless their age or their level and hopes that anyone with a musical heart and mindset will contribute to make a better world.
Born in Italy and currently based in Sydney (Australia), he obtained his piano performance degrees at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and at the Benedetto Marcello Venice Conservatory.
As a classical pianist he gave concerts as soloist and together with other musicians.
When Mauro Colombis discovered the hidden world of silent films he became passionate about music for moving images and developed his style which combines together composition and improvisation.
Today he performs mainly as a silent film pianist.
